My Big Bright Star

I have wished upon a star each night
My whole life through it seems
To find the guy who was meant for me
To fulfill all my hopes and dreams.

I wished for this perfect guy though
This 'too good to be true' prince
But from the first time I heard the fairy tales
I've wanted them ever since.

The qualities that I wished for
Seemed too perfect to even exist
But I knew I could tell if he was the one
From the first time that we kissed.

I wished for a guy tall and built
Blonde hair and eyes of blue
I wished for him to be athletic
Strong and muscular too

I wished for him to be romantic
Not afraid to show his love for me
To be affectionate and spontaneous too
And not scared to let the whole world see

I wished for him to be sweet
To do all those little things
To show me that he cares for me
And all that our future brings

I wished for him to be funny
A sense of humor is a must
A guy able to make me laugh
Is certainly a guy I trust

I wished for him to be smart
An intelligent guy is the best
Who knows his writing and arithmetic
Who would stand out among the rest

I wished for a good personality
This trait is important too
To be able to keep my attention
Is something only the right guy can do

I wished for him to be cuddly
To wrap his arms around me at night
To be my great big teddy bear
Who would hold me 'til daylight

I wished for him to be brave
To shield me from all harm
My knight in shining armor
To be my lucky charm

I wished for him to be sensitive
A man not afraid to cry
A trustworthy guy committed to me
Who would love me and never lie

I knew it was a big request
And a very tight demand
But I knew if I could have this one little wish
I'd be the happiest girl in the land

I never thought I'd find him though
As impossible as it seems
But now I know wishes do come true
For I found the man of my dreams

He fits all my requirements
He's perfect as a matter of fact
He's one little fish in a big blue sea
But he's one I'm not throwing back

So thank you my big bright star
For making my dreams come true
If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have him
You're amazing and I owe you!
