how did you know an angel lie still
inside her heart and unable to fly
wings yet unproven and lacking of will
wanting for purpose and waiting to try
how did you know the strength of a child
courage and power, inspiring to all
who cherish his challenge, bask in his smile
follow his journey, answer his call
how did you know this man could still learn
hopeless feelings surrender to hope
lifting the clouds of despair and concern
embracing the light and eager to grow
thank you Lord for wonders untold
bless this child with all that you know
