Mother

© By Shannon Burke

As a child I remember,
My mothers hands,
They were something to behold,
My tiny hands
Softly wrapped around just one finger
A feeling of sanctuary
Completely enfolded
In her beautiful hands

Her arms envelop me
Such a sensation of warmth
To be safe from the world
When I'm content in her arms

My mothers sweet kisses
On my cheek late at night
Make me feel like an angel
Wont let me out of her sight

A mothers love
It encases my soul
Gives me strength
Gives me shelter
When life is a storm
Even now that I'm grown,
I'll never feel alone,
Cause I know when I need it,
Her hands will be warm,
To surround me with comfort
In the eye of the storm.
