Not So Beautiful Me

© By Kiley Wyart

You think it's some kind of joke?
This pain and anger I feel each day.
Caused by loneliness; self hate
Questioning my reasons to stay.
You think this is all so funny.
Making fun and joking around in every way.
The words that come out of your mouth, they hurt like knives,
Do you even realize what you say?
I may not be beautiful,
The typical tall, pretty and thin.
I want to love myself, but all hope is lost.
For society has made who I am a sin.
When I look around at th eother girls,
A perfect body everyone talks about and hears.
I want that so damn much,
Just thinking about it brings me to tears.
So tell me, why can't I be beautiful?
Beautiful like the girls in the magazines,
Like my family and my friends
Or maybe one of those pageant show beauty queens?
These questions I have, they'll never be answered,
So I'll say goodbye to you now, in the best condition I'll ever be.
I want nothing more than to change, but I know I can't.
Sincerely, the not so beautiful me.
