I have a Poem. This one Right now,
In this very moment Of time,
I’m lost and confused,
Nothing makes sense,
Nothing I’ve ever known Seems true.
Twenty-one gun salute,
That’s what she said you’d get.
Twenty-one gun salute,
What don’t I know about you?
Daddy always looked up to you,
You always made me laugh.
A knuckle sandwich every Christmas,
That one was the last.
I won’t get one this year,
And it’s really hard to laugh.
I’m empty and cold grandpa,
I don’t know what to do.
I promised Grandma I wouldn’t cry.
I knew you would go soon.
Where will you lie and rest, Grandpa?
When will I see you again?
The memories slip away grandpa,
I’m trying not to forget.
Right now I’m crying,
I think you left too soon.
I love you grandpa,
And I still don’t know what to do…
