I Am Jason’s Mom

I Am Jason's Mom

Hello, little one,
Blessed my life you have, with laughter and delight,
With tears and cherished memories that take shall outlast the night.
Each step we took together, as we grew not apart, but near,
I dusted off the bumps and gently wiped away each tear.

I watched with gasps and baited breath,
As you became an awkward young man, confronting life, confronting death.
Life dealt us curves, choices were made,
No family, no teachers- just us in the life-parade.

So, we stood together, with no blueprints to behold,
Our lives like unknown rocky roads, strong and bold.
I was scared, I felt alone,
But you’d smile and say, “Mom, it’s just another adventure, another stone.”

With innocence so pure and rich, you gave,
Strength and courage to brave.
Believe in myself and in the good of all,
It’s you, son, who caught me when too weary to stand tall.

Now, as a grown man, with a spirit aged and wise,
Walks through life’s challenges with open eyes,
A reflection of courage, of strength, of might,
A leader you’ve become, in the darkest night.

A spirit and a will so strong,
Despite our life’s tragedies, you have along.
Responsible, mature my son has grown to be,
And today and always, I am proud to say- I am Jason’s mom, eternally.
