My Best Friend

My Best Friend

We’re writing you this letter just to ask you why
All the good people that we know always have to die
And just by chance that you see someone we know
Just tell them we said we miss them along with a kind hello
I know myself I’ve felt that it always seems way too soon
When a good friend or family member meets their untimely doom
We felt so mad when you took our good friend Virgil Sharp
But we’ve come to realize he’ll always be in our hearts

We all cried when he died and we remembered the good times
He’s always around with us in spirit and in our minds
If you see him can you please tell him we said we love him and goodbye
We’ll toast him at parties and get togethers and try not to cry
Rebel without a cause, Friend with a heart of gold
Just to let you know when u made him u broke the mold
Virgil was a one of a kind with a good heart, soul, and mind
I know he helped me when I needed it most

And I would try any way possible to repay the favor
But I wish you wouldn’t have introduced him to the undertaker
He was more like a brother, even in the short time I known him
He was more like family not just my best friend
I’m curious to know why you didn’t want me to go
And you distracted me from my other plans
I could have been with him, damn he was one helluva man
I try to remember everything we talked about, everything that was said

I cherish my friends always trying to keep everything talked about in my head
Hey Virgil just to let you know Me, Brandon, Josh, and Felicia drank you a shot
We miss ya bro, your family will always love ya and will never let go
I still wake up in the mornings expecting you to knock on the door
But then it comes back to me and you’re not to suffer any pain anymore
You where #1, you was the best, and in heaven you’ll be when it’s our turn to rest
