The Christmas Holliday

Christmas is a time for gladness,
With eggnog filling lots of glasses.
The Christmas spirit you can see,
For presents ‘re under the Christmas tree.

With all the stockings over flowing,
The fireplace is brightly glowing.
Hot chocolates steamin’, marshmallows ‘re meltin’,
And the family’s inside merrily decoratin’.

Tinsel and lights twinkle away.
The sounds of bells remind us of sleighs,
The smell of ginger and pine,
Help us reminisce the olden time.

After eating candies and cookies galore,
The children are ready to explore.
Snow on the ground crunches under their feet,
While mom’s inside baking another good treat.

The children had lots of fun,
Now that the day is all done.
They’re too excited and can’t fall asleep,
They’ve tried everything, from lying still to counting sheep.

Parents are putting up the last touches for Christmas,
While the children’s’ night is extremely restless.
The children don’t dream of sugarplums this night;
They’re too busy wondering what their presents will be like.

Would Santa Claus come again this year?
For the bells on his sleigh, you never could hear.
Not one of the children have ever seen that jolly old soul,
But their parents are good friends with him, or so they are told.

Christmas is such a beautiful day.
It’s the feeling of giving that makes it that way.
The gifts are all open, and the day is
