As my mate and I ventured, into the woods so serene,
He to fish in the stream, I to explore the seen.
Cedar, Birch, Pine around me, standing tall and bright,
Looking up at their wisdom, offered a splendid sight.
Babes at their feet on the forest floor lay,
As I smiled at them, I felt the trees sway.
Lost in the world of rebirth, a world brand new,
Watching the forest floor turn, with growth and life so true.
Cedars standing tall again, holding cocoons in hand, three,
Protecting them with all their might, until butterflies they’d be.
Wind reaches my face gently, warmth of the sun I feel,
The rushing waters echo, their sound so real.
The thundering grouse wings, the coyote’s distant yip,
The eagle soaring high above, in the sky takes a dip.
An oak tree branched like a stag’s horn, in all her splendor stood,
A smile on my face it brought, in peace – how I wish I could.
Yet as darkness began to fall, I knew it was time to go,
Saying goodbye to nature, that put up such a show.
Lord and Lady with their children, deep in my heart they stay,
As I return to the mundane world, until another day.
